The 5 Best Wedding Advices From Olivia Palermo

Every women who has planned a wedding know that this is a beautiful and stressful time. That is why it is always nice to hear advices from people who have already “survived” a wedding and know what is really important – And isn’t it amazing when this person is known for her fashion forward sense of style? Olivia Palermo reveals her best advices for a stylish and fabulous wedding, from decoration to the wedding dress:

In 2014 she dared to walk down the aisle wearing a three-piece outfit by Carolina Herrera: a light cashmere sweater, an amazing tulle skirt and shorts (for shoes, her choice was the blue Manolos that SATC’s Carrie Bradshaw wore at her civil ceremony). Now she shared her best advices for a successful dream wedding:

1.  “You do not have to wear all white. I always like to incorporate little pops of colour, which ensures an elegant change in style. To my white wedding outfit I wore my blue Manolo Blahnik -.. So I also had something blue.”

2. “Beautiful inspiration for wedding dresses can be found in the Ready to Wear collections of designers like Marchesa, Oscar de la Renta or Carolina Herrera. There you can ever find out in which direction it should go. And even if your dream dress comes right off the rack, add your own touch. Play with color. It’s all about styling.”

3.”Every bride needs a wedding mantra! My wedding mantra is beautiful flowers. All I care about are beautiful flowers. I love peonies and tulips in light pinks”

4. “Details are important: the decoration and the food should be carefully selected. The food has to be really good.  That’s no place to skimp on either. Sometimes less is more!”

5. “Relax! The wedding day is your day, so you can have everything the way you want. You do not have to follow all the old rules, you can have a modern wedding. At the end of the day, it’s about the two of us, and that’s the most important thing. People shouldn’t lose sight of that.”
