Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2014 winner, drag queen and austrian singer Conchita Wurst (Tom Neuwirth), is the new muse of fashion guru Karl Lagerfeld!

Lagerfeld was invited by the CR Fashion Book to shoot a series of portraits for the “The New Normal” editorial featuring Conchita and pregnant model Ashleigh Good.

In the new-season Wurst poses Givenchy, Prada, Chanel and Rick Owen with her trademark beard alongside Ashleigh Good, who modelled the closing look at last month’s Chanel’s haute Couture show

Lagerfeld said about Chonchita:

“I like Conchita because not only does he really have a voice but he has done something that’s never been done before. We have all heard of “bearded ladies” but no one has ever seen a bearded man posing as a lady… This brings new meaning to the term ‘drag'”

When asked about the photoshoot, he said: “A skinny musician next to a pregnant top model, it was a game of volumes.”

It wasn’t the first time that Conchita Wurst appeared on the high fashion world. Last month she had her model debut closing Jean Paul Gaultier’s A/W Haut Couture show in Paris. Gaultier reserves that spot for a wedding dress and this season Wurst took the bride’s place wearing a beautiful and very extravagant black dress.

The designer bowed at her feet and expressed his appreciation. In a post-show interview to The Independent, Jean Paul Gaultier said:

“I always say that beauty is difference and Conchita has shown us all that she is unstoppable. And she looks great in couture; she is a real couture woman,”

Conchita has enchanted Europe with her elegance, amazing dresses and her “James Bond” like song and it’s so nice to see she’s been doing great after the song contest. Congratulations!

Sorry people but because I got I couple of homophobic comments I have to say that: I won’t allow any kind of prejudice being posted on my blog! Don’t even try.

I can’t believe haters think they have the right to judge people. Thank you for standing up for this cause and for not tolerating discrimination here. Homophobia is so past century!

    Ps.: Great post 🙂
