So it is almost Christmas time. When I was a child I used to write a letter to Santa, telling him the good deeds I had done that year and why I would deserve at least one of the presents of my Christmas list. Now, here I am, not a child anymore but still writting a list, not to Santa but to my family because, as they say, I should know what I want and what I need. What kind of things do you have on your Christmas list?
Actually, mom and dad, I am really happy with everything in my life right now. I am blessed with the people around me and I am in a really good place at the moment, so I’ll pass this year on the Christmas list and instead I will enjoy you guys and give charity (if you want, just join me!). However, if I could, there is a lot of things that I would like to change though:
- The world situation: There is too many wars and terrorism in this world. Sometimes it seems that people just don’t care about each other anymore. And problems that just didn’t use to be ours are knocking our doors to show us that no one can live in peace if there is no peace in the world.
- Health and Education: I have always been blessed in many ways in my life. Not only for having a family that always cared for me, but also for being born in a family which cherished education and were able to provide me the best health care available, however here are many people around the world that suffer for now beaing able to eat nor feed their family, to provide their children or themselves with the same aid we have in Europe or to pay for their kid’s education.
- Shalom for Israel and Palestine: I wish peace upon the world, especially in my beloved Israel. There is no excuse for the death of innocent people, not Israelis and not Palestinians. Sometime the distance between us can be minimised by signs of kindness; also peace and war starts/ends with me and you and how we treat each other.
- Save our mother nature: Sometimes it seems that we have forgotten how precious and sensible our ecosystem is. I haven’t posted this on here, but this year I have decided to give up having a car and take the durst off my bike. The results of it are: one car less on the street and less co2; more leg muscles and better health due to the fresh air I get to enjoy in my bike. However, I know it is not enough. We have to do more, there is no plan B for this world – it is everything we have so let’s go for a world with less car and less meat! If you want to help a project that will buy and plant trees for a greener world and also project a tree on the Eiffel tower for your donation, check out One Heart, One Tree.
So, enough about me. What are your wishes for Christmas? What are your plans with family and friends? Here I have a small selection of amazing ideas for your Christmas list:
