This summer’s key trends are the trickiest trends seen in a long time, therefore likely to be used in the wrong way. Even people with very good taste make mistakes, specially when so many things are en vogue, right?
I have chosen 5 great trends that we will see everywhere this summer to show you how to get it right. I hope you guys enjoy it:
1. The slip dress: The underwear-as-outwear is back! This is a piece of the 90’s that fits to this summer so well. The simplicity of this clothing will make this a fail-safe outfit – the only problem is that the spaghetti straps is not really office-friendly. So what about wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt or body to hide it? Keep an open mind and try it, I bet you will like it!
2. The midi skirt: If you think midi skirts are frumpy and difficult to pull off then you are wrong, darling! It is not really impossible to put a great outfit together using these below-the-knee skirts. You can use oversized biker, trainers or just minimal and thick-soled sandals and a slogan tee. For a more feminine look just wear some nice classy heels!
3.Sheer: Sheer looks awesome on the catwalk but in real life it is definitely challenging, don’t you think? You can use sheer sleeves or a peekaboo panel and it will look great, just avoid anything too revealing and keep it modern with clean lines and sporty accessories and you will do fine!
4. Pastel: Frills, lace and crochet are things you should not mix with pastels. Try boxy shapes ind fuss-free fabrics. Get it right and you will look fresh and modern and if you are worried about looking too pale, punctuate your pastels with deeper shades, like navy blue shoes.
5. Slider: Well, slider sandels are a very confusing trend – thanks to Christopher Kane’s s/s 2012. The humble plastic shoe has been reworked by all the great lables, in everything from satin to leather. Wear it with wide, tailored trousers or with denim – just get it out of the beachwear and try the daywear!
