  • Oats: Oats are not only rich in fiber, they also help you feel full and satisfied throughout the day. A Half cup packs around 5 grams of resistant starch.

Thanks for the post. I just wanted to add that if you are recommending that people eat the skins of a fruit like pear, they should stick to organic sources only as the benefits from the nutrients do not outweigh the damages from the pesticides and chemicals.

I’ve done some research on food for a few posts that I have written for my blog lately and one thing has really stood out for me. Your body will react very favorably to real food, especially fruits and vegetables. They provide vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, and all the other things we need. They reduce inflammation and help the body to function very well.

On the other hand, your body will react very poorly to things that we think are food, but are really not. That includes all of the processed foods because the processing either adds or takes away something and makes the food unrecognizable to the body, if it was ever recognizable as food to begin with. Because the body doesn’t recognize it as food, it figures it must be an invader of some kind, and responds with inflammation and other immune responses.
