Autumn/Winter 2014 Trend Guide

It’s not so easy to identify trends when you are watching fashion shows, especially whilst running from one show to another but it’s easier to do it when there is a cross-over from pre-fall.

Summer just got into full speed but autumn will be arriving very soon, so let’s look ahead this season and talk about the trends that will be on the streets this autumn/winter.

Talking about the treds for autumn/winter 2014 the first time that comes to my mind is cosiness and texture. It’s kinda silly to say that the star of Autumn/Winter are coats: Blanket coats, Orange coats, Belt up coats, etc.

Let’s get started, shall we?

Sixties Reload and  IT Jackets

We are not quite back to the 60’s. Its forms and shapes have been the inspiration to many designers BUT the fabrics express very much 2014’s way of life: modern and fresh!

The IT jackets have a contrasting collar and sit neatly and tidily at the waist!

Patterned Dress

This trend of dresses with the standout factor was set by  Givenchy, Prada and Burberry and is a great choice for autumn.

Belt Up Coats

Analysing Carven’s, Marni’s and Céline’s collection, cocoon coats is a yesterday trend. Try to focus on cinching in waist!

Pale Pink for Everyone!

This is for sure the easiest trend to follow, thanks to Dior, Chanel and Fendi. And if you  followed Spring trends (Pastels, pastels and then once again… pastels), you must have a few pieces in your wardrobe that you can wear this autumn!

The Power Suit

If you are on a fashionable mission than you will have to buy a couple of tailored suits… that’s what Stella McCartney, Jil Sander and Christopher Cane will be offering.

Leopard Print

No, this animal print won’t leave the streets… at least not for now as Chloé, Carven and Céline showed us!

Zips

Functional clothing features are “in” and the designers have gone crazy about zippers!

Blankets or Scarves?

Both! The bigger the better, that is what Burberry, Sacai e Issa showed us.

Whether wet-look or opaque leather, leather dresses have been on Valentino’s, Louis Vuitton’s and Christopher Kane’s catwalk!

Terrific post. My favorites of the trends you listed are leather dresses, pastel pink and zippers. All are so attractive to me year-round so, whether they are trendy or not, I would still find a way to incorporate them into my wardrobe.
