Every blogger wonders how to increase the quality of their photos and consequently, what is the best camera for bloggers. There are many things to take into consideration: size, transportability, quality of photos, built-in wifi, etc. I myself have been looking for a new camera for a long time. Here is my review on my Olympus PEN E-PL7:
Before I got my new Olympus PEN E-PL7 I used to shoot my photos either with my mobile phone or with my Canon camera – which I bought for about 800 Euros a few years ago and is still a very good cam. Even though I was able to make beautiful pictures I wasn’t completly satisfied with my cameras: 1. The Canon was too big to carry everywhere I go; 2. My mobile phone, although it has a great photo quality for a phone, it wasn’t comparable to a normal cam. So, I needed a compact system camera.

I have read a lot about cameras for bloggers before asking this one for birthday, the so called “A true blogger’s Camera”. Although it is quite pricy for a small cam, it is a lightweight small camera that fits well in bags and that you can just carry it crossbody, that takes very high quality photos and is easy to handle.
The camera has a pretty design with a retro touch, which I love and that makes the camera very stylish. It wasn’t the number one reason why I wanted it, the built-in wifi, the tilting LCD touchscreen, the size and weight were the reasons.

The quality of the photos that the Olympus PEN E-PL7 are really good, I love the image stabilization, the many different filters and it also shoots RAW pics (Olympus saves these pics in an .ORF file, which can’t be open on Photoshop CS6 though. Just convert the photos to DNG and you are good to go). The editing is quite simple and makes it easy to reach the perfect photo.
Altogether, I am very pleased with this camera, it is an awesome little thing. The video quality isn’t the best you can get, so if you are looking for a great video quality, it is not for you. However, it is perfect for someone just starting in the blogging scene (especially since you can start shooting great photos with no delay without having to worry about the settings). Afterwards you can edit your your photos and immediately share them using your built-in wifi.
Although I am still exploring all the great possibilities that this camera offers, I will soon share some tips and tricks with you… To be continued!

My camera is too big and bulkie and I never have it when I need it. Usually I make due with my cellphone camera because I always have it on me. For the most part it does a decent enough job, but not always. I will definitely have to check that camera out. Thanks! 🙂
This camera is the best. At the time I bought it, this camera was everywhere… they really made a marketing campaign for bloggers because it was everywhere on Instagram. But then I asked a friend of mine, who is a photographer and he said that it was defo one of the best compact system cams of the moment and even for videos it would look great – the only minus would be shooting anything at night. Now, 6 months later, I am still very satisfied with it!
